suggestion: allow infinite retype delay

The retype delay is never useful for me, as I'm always happy to restart a search manually. Sometimes, I'd really like to be able to think over my searches longer than the maximum allowable 3 seconds. Can you add an option to make the retype delay infinite?

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

Aside from a singled cmd, I've also tried other launch shortcuts: single ctrl, double cmd, etc. I get the same reproducible problem every time: after a cmd-shift-4 screenshot, LaunchBar fails to launch regardless of what launch sequence is set. Then, of course, there are the continued launch failure...

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

I just tried cmd-shift-4 on a different High Sierra Laptop, a new Macbook 12 (the other was a 2013 MBR), and it shows the same problem. All of my laptops have Siri disabled.

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

After doing a screen grab of part of the screen by using cmd-shift-4, does LaunchBar exhibit the failure to launch problem? I do, every time on my High Sierra laptop.

suggestion: cmd + number to launch result items

In the result list, I would like the option of launching an item without scrolling down to it or further narrowing the search. I would like to be able to launch any of the first 10 items in the list by pressing cmd + number, where the proper key combination shows on the right side of the item. Alfre...

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

I have never had Siri enabled, yet LB has exhibited the failure to launch problem for me on both Sierra and High Sierra on for different Macbooks. What's more, in my Siri preference panes' grayed-out options, the default is "Hold Option Space." So I think this Siri connection is a red herr...

Re: Indexing more like Alfred?

Actually, I don't like Alfred's default, which includes folders in Home. I turn that off and then manually add the subfolders of Home that I want indexed, excluding the ones I don't want indexed.

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

Update on Alfred: it provides essentially all the same functionality as LB, but it requires more keystrokes. I would say Alfred smarter than LB, always presenting you with many fewer correctly relevant choices, but the cost in extra keystrokes is a real drawback as certain common and frequently repe...

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

I haven't had a single instance of the failure-to-launch problem with Quicksilver. But even though Quicksilver works as advertised, its interface is less clever than LaunchBar's in ways that quickly add up and make QS take more work to use than LB. For example: -all the good plug-ins are outdated -T...

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

The QuickSilver app in its download says September 6, 2017, so that's encouraging. Is there a recent QuickSilver vs. LaunchBar comparision thread on these boards? Simply searching on "QuickSilver" turns up too many hits.

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

I used QuickSilver for a long time, but I found LaunchBar to be better, not super-better, but enough to make me switch. As I recall, LaunchBar has the much faster interface, getting to what I need in fewer keystrokes. According to my notes, however, QuickSilver's functionality wasn't getting updated...

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

I can reproduce the error consistently: whenever I quit the video player VLC after or while playing a video, LaunchBar will not recognize either its regular short cut or its modifier tap until I switch to another app via mouse click or cmd-tab.

Re: Serious Issue: cmd-space does not always work

Yeah, it seems to only happen when switching out of certain apps and only in certain contexts. It really sucks, though, because it's amazing how much you can trash when you're a touch typist. For example, imagine you have a large region of text selected and then you go to activate LaunchBar only to ...

req: index Notes

Search didn't find this, so I'm making this suggestion: have LaunchBar index and find notes in the Notes app. If LaunchBar could index the first line of each note as if it were the note's title and then open the Notes app to that note when selected, that would be a welcome feature.

"Unix Executables" not showing in index

On one of my computers, I use LaunchBar's Unix Executables, no problem. But on another computer, the executables don't show up, and "Unix Executables" doesn't appear as an item in the index's list of categories. How can I make the category appear so that I can enable it?
