Re: conflict with attachInterrupt

INT0 is used to give it highest priority. You could probably rewire USB to use INT1 without problem (and make the appropriate change to usbconfig.h), since interrupts are disabled during USB activity. Even when USB uses INT0, you generally have to make the other interrupt handlers non-blocking with ...

Re: USB Caps Locker

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this put 5V signals over the USB data lines? I don't see anything to drop the +5V from USB that powers the '85 I wouldn't connect this to anything I cared about. I'm amazed that the author of this project would remove the zener diodes just to save a few component...

Re: v-usb with usb 3.0?

I'm a thrifty hobbyist and it'll be years before I have a machine with USB 3.0. I wonder whether others also use older hardware that is perfectly fine for this kind of work.

Re: v-usb with usb 3.0?

Google "usb 3.0" on this site yields only this and a thread from 2009.

Re: Joystick axis not updating properly.

Maybe unrelated, but why are you having the two axes be Z and Ry, rather than X and Y?

Re: Enabling interrupt causes device enumeration problem

V-USB is unreliable if you disable interrupts for more than 25 cycles (and Murphy's Law means that it'll seem to work on one computer rather than fail consistently on all). In your case you can make your ISR non-blocking by having it begin with an SEI to re-enable interrupts: ISR(TIM1_COMPA_vect,ISR...

Re: HID keyboard with backchannel

Is a report ID mandatory when using features? I took the earlier post implying that one could use features with a single device.

Re: HID keyboard with backchannel

I don't have any experience for your direct question. If I were adding such a feature I'd use something totally standard so that there was no question of OS support. I've seen some adapters have the user press some certain keystrokes to change modes. For host initiation, it cound send data via the L...

Re: USB "helper" for V-USB prototyping

Not entirely clear on your question. I have USB extension cables coming up on my desk surface, so little male connectors are great instead of even more cables on things. I take it you're putting cables so they can reach to your PC. The point of the board is to make USB more prototype-friendly, allow...

ulao, hah, a day or so ago when I was looking at the report posted here, I was thinking to myself "those comments could easily differ from the actual values. The comments are in such a structured format, surely someone has made some macros that could allow entry directly in that form, to avoid ...

Re: Using V-USB VID and PID

I read your post a day or so ago and didn't understand the problem with using the VID/PID pairs already assigned to the programs in question. What happens when you leave those alone? I suppose it's irrelevant to your question, but knowing the answer might make the problem seem more worthwhile to som...

Re: usbHidReportDescriptor type of confilct

Looks like you were probably just missing 'const'. Often const-correctness is only later done correctly in a library, requiring addition of const in some user code as in this case. So ulao's suggestion seems to be what you need to follow to get it compiling. As for a larger report, you need to updat...

Re: usbHidReportDescriptor type of confilct

Compare the two indicated lines and look for a discrepancy in the types, e.g. uchar in one, char in the other, const in one, no const in the other, PROGMEM in one, no PROGMEM in the other.

USB "helper" for V-USB prototyping

I use this USB "helper" for V-USB prototyping and love it. http://i.imgur.com/oUT1iKwl.jpg It allows quick construction of circuits on a breadboard which use V-USB, without having to clutter it with the several parts. Since one needs a customized USB cable in the first place (stripped, tin...

Nice you've made progress. I plan on doing a combo device for a keyboard/media keys adapter and this will be useful to refer to. delivery of some parts from China will take a while. Heh, I've discovered that stuff on eBay about a year ago and it's been an interesting experience in patience and plann...
