Re: Allowing or blocking a domain

Little Snitch does support rules that match an entire domain. Just edit the rule in your Little Snitch Configuration application and change the "Server" setting of the rule from "Hostname" to "Domain" in order to allow or deny connections to an entire domain. Screenshot...

Re: Run entered text as shell command (NOT in Terminal app)

Save the following AppleScript as ~/Library/Application Support/LaunchBar/Actions/Run Shell Command.scpt on handle_string(_command) do shell script _command end handle_string Now you can select the Run Shell Command action in LaunchBar by typing an abbreviation like RSC , press Space, enter the comm...

You can accomplish this with a custom action, for example with this simple AppleScript: on open (_location) try tell application "LaunchBar" to activate set _textFile to choose file name with prompt "Create text file:" default name "untitled.txt" default location _locat...

It does not display the full license number. You are right, the license key is never displayed in full. Otherwise it wou...

Re: Is restarting after installation really needed?

What is the kext for? I don't really know, but I suspect it's part of LS's protection against being changed or bypassed. No. The kext does the actual traffic filtering. Therefore it must be loaded early, before the very first connection attempt. Otherwise traffic via already established connections...

Re: Feature request: block domain resolving

We do respond to every support request that we receive via email. But agreed, we should be more responsive on the forum as well. Regarding DNS resolving: Application specific interception of DNS lookups is only possible by patching a system component via an interposing library. Such a solution is ti...

Re: Permanent ksurl exception?

I'm surprised there haven't been more reports of this problem. I just downloaded the nightly, but for anyone who would like to avoid unofficial builds... The fix that we've introduced with the nightly build last September is already part of the current stable version. I also have a related question...

Re: Little Snitch itself phones home!

I deliberately registered it with a known pirate serial from a known torrent site. Initially, it accepted the number with no issues, however about an hour later it popped up a dialog saying the number was pirate and that LS was now operating in demo mode. @qwerty, I've explained this in a recent po...

Re: launchbar script to type new sticky note (for os x stickies)

Stickies.app internally uses a different name for this Service, "Make Sticky" instead of "Make New Sticky Note" as shown in the Services menu. The search template therefore must be: x-launchbar:perform-service?name=Make+Sticky&string=* But with LaunchBar 5 it's no longer nece...

Re: Cyberduck bookmarks not available

The latest version of Cyberduck appears to have changed the way how bookmarks are saved. We'll have to adapt LaunchBar's indexer accordingly.
