Re: Too much indexing

Bump. I too would very much like back a little control over indexing frequency, particularly since it appears that "tag indexing" stalls for long periods, and I have no way either to cancel it or to help it along.

Re: Why does helpd keep asking to connect to smile?

I got a partial answer to my own question from Smile support: "…We include a URL in our help where the OS X help system can check for updated help content. We have no control over how often it does so, though it is implied in the developer documentation that such update checking is infrequent…&...

Why does helpd keep asking to connect to smile?

A couple of days ago, I played around with PDF Pen by Smile Software, but it is not something I normally keep running. Ever since then however, I get LS requests several times a day for helpd to connect to smilesoftware.com on port 80. This persists through restarts. There is no background app assoc...

Re: Feature Request: Recent Folder

Hi,
Is there any way the excellent Recent Folder feature could be applied to Path Finder?
Finder followed by right arrow brings up a list of recent folders, but PF followed by right arrow brings up recent *files* opened by PF.
Anything I or you could do to change that?

Re: Switching to Mail no longer opens window

OK, sorry again for the irrelevant topic. Feel free to remove it moderator. The culprit turned out to be a conflict involving 2 Mail bundles (MiniMail and RocketBox in my case, though there may be other permutations). Thanks for your thoughts sjk.

Re: Switching to Mail no longer opens window

The more I look into this, the more it is clearly not a LaunchBar issue, since Mail opens no new window in response to a click on the Dock icon either. So sorry for clogging up the LB forum, but any suggestions would still be appreciated.

Switching to Mail no longer opens window

One of the things I used to like about LB was that I could use it to switch to an app, like Mail, and if no window was currently open it would open a new one. That is still true of some apps, eg Safari, but as of a few weeks ago,no longer true of Mail. I am not aware of anything that I have changed ...

In answer to my own question, the developers of both Radioshift and Little Snitch are aware that the two apps are incompatible, but neither is planning to do anything about it. Rogue Amoeba feel that the behaviour of Radioshift is within Apple guidelines, and Objective Development is not prepared to...

Rules for multiple processes "containing words..."

I have a specific problem using Little Snitch with Radioshift: in order to make scheduled recordings of radio streams, Radioshift Helper generates new processes for each recording, but of course each new process generates an LS alert when it tries to go online. This means that unattended scheduled r...

We've already implemented this feature a while ago, but it turned out that Finder writes its "Recent Folders" info to disk only when you log out, so we can't get the most recent info from Finder, but only the info written at the the last log out. And there's no API for asking Finder direc...

Thanks very much Ludwig, I had never noticed that before because I had been looking for it in the wrong place. And yes, I will file a request.

Recent Folders

This may be asking too much, but in view of how neat it is that LaunchBar can access recent items of Cocoa apps with abbreviation + right arrow, it would be wonderful if it was possible to bring up a list of recently opened Finder windows with Finder + right arrow. The problem I anticipate (apart fr...

the right arrow is a very inconvenient key when you are racing through a folder hierarchy...- e Not for left-handers who hold the mouse in their left hand while using the right hand modifiers. This is one of those rare occasions on which it seems actually an advantage to be left-handed. And for the...

I'd like to add a loud vote too, for LaunchBar to give the option of displaying custom file and folder icons. As well as two more votes for the option of larger icons and larger font sizes. I sit about three feet from a large screen, and while I can read the list, it would be much easier to do so if...
