Cheaters for LaunchBar

This is an action for LaunchBar that provides an interface to Brett Terpstra’s "Cheaters." (https://github.com/ttscoff/cheaters) This just opens your Cheaters HTML files in a web pop-up. You can also pass a string to the action which will open up the cheater that matches the string/substri...

Question: JXA in LB Action JS scripts

With Javascript for Automation (JXA) in Yosemite, is there a way to control external applications in a JS-based LaunchBar action's script?

Website Pop-Up action

Here's a simple action that accepts a URL and opens up a floating window of that URL. Uses the Automator web popup action.

Re: Edit returned result items

Thanks. Not the answer I wanted, but at least an answer. Here is a simple AppleScript that handles this case pretty smoothly in case that's useful for people using the AS API instead of JS. tell application "LaunchBar" set _selection to selection as text -- In case things are slow, hold un...

Edit returned result items

I'm working on making an extension that will enable a user to edit items in a text file. What I'd like to do is have returned results enable a "handle_string()" handler, but pre-populate the handled string with the returned result. Example: Returned items: Line 1: Foo bar Line 2: Bar Baz S...

Re: How to have an action return a selection of files

Turns out the missing component was the "path" variable in the returned record set. I had that set to the Mac path, but if it's a POSIX path it works.

Thanks for your help!

Re: How to have an action return a selection of files

Thanks, but the script is working fine and returns a list of files. However, those files are literally just paths - they do not display as nor behave as a list of files. See screenshot of what the script returns: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s3/sh/e197f534-d71d-494d-8b91-563164537e6f/546a88fdd7768...

Re: LaunchBar & 1Password

Inspired by Alfred, I wrote up a script that very quickly exports your 1Password logins as an HTML file that LaunchBar can index.

Re: indexing Evernote notes with LaunchBar finally solved

I put together a similar script, but this just makes a single bookmarks file that LaunchBar can index. A little less clutter than weblocs all over the place, plus it has richer text for indexing.

The advantage of letting the Finder is handle it is that it would then handle duplicate files and such more gracefully. All that file moving code's already there.

Thank you for the tip. I was under the impression that the shortcuts weren't working because they require a ridiculously quick tapping to make it work. Fn seems more forgiving, but double-command requires me to be woodpecker-like in order to invoke it. Still, it's easier one-handed launching, which ...

In the latest beta (beta 2), clip merge is working reliably, and you can tab-off from the selection. Also, in the latest version, there's a "zip" action that does exactly what you want except that it only works on a single file at a time. So it can't zip up all your files into a bundle. Si...

What do the new custom modifier taps do?

There's a new preference for custom modifier taps, but I can't figure out how that's supposed to work. I've enabled them, but hitting the modifiers (double shift or double command) doesn't seem to do anything.

This CAN be done... Enable clip-merge in LaunchBar's prefs, so CMD+C,CMD+C appends to the clipboard. Select your first file, CMD+C Select your second file, CMD+C, CMD+C Select your third...nth file, CMD+C, CMD+C CMD+V (paste) Choose "Select in Launchbar" (or hit F1) Now act on the multiple...
