Re: Launchbar 6.5.1 mds cpu usage

mds is the process, that builds and renews the index for Spotlight and of course this doesn't look normal. If I were you: - I'd reboot the Mac. Does the problem persist? - I'd quit LaunchBar and delete it's cache by deleting the folder 'at.obdev.LaunchBar' in /Users/Your-Name-Here/Library/Caches/. D...

Re: Using Airmail 2 as mail client

Just tested: Over here LaunchBar respects the default email client set as a preference in Apple Mail. My settings: In LaunchBar > Preferences > Actions > Options > Create emails with: ' Automatic (Mail)' (I guess it's important to set the choice to 'Automatic (Mail)' instead of 'Mail', which is also...

Re: Indexing external drives

The index item "Mounted Volumes" is more or less for bringing up the volume and browse it's contents via LaunchBar or to eject the volume - as it's already written as an explanation, when you bring up that item in the index' list. Please note that when you click on an item in the index lis...

@darevafadd5757: Very kind, thank you. As you use several email addresses and probably like shortcuts - hey, we are using LaunchBar -, you will maybe like this tip:http://macsparky.com/blog/2014/10/update-to-mail-send-from-trick

Re: LAUNCH BAR INDEXING FAR TOO MUCH

I even Put Launch Bar in my Spotlight Privacy option and It STILL started indexing as soon as I restarted. This does not prevent LaunchBar from starting or does influence it's behaviour. At this point I cannot follow anymore and I have said before, that it is natural for LaunchBar to start indexing...

Re: LAUNCH BAR INDEXING FAR TOO MUCH

I could not find Files And Folders in Index. I could not find my Clone in Mounted Drives. 'Mounted Volumes' is a subsection of 'Files and Folders'. You're already there, otherwise I wonder, where you have set the options for subfolders as you had described before. See attachment: LaunchBar_index_fi...

Re: LAUNCH BAR INDEXING FAR TOO MUCH

I did not Find My Volume It is A It is CLONE Of My Hard Drive. It does not appear in the Index Mounted Drives. It only appears in Index > Files and Folder > 'Mounted Volumes' when it is mounted. Is it mounted? Maybe you have a different version of Launch Bar I have 6.2 You're ahead of time, the cur...

Re: LAUNCH BAR INDEXING FAR TOO MUCH

FORTHE CLONE:I Found my volume in index/mounted volumes. I unchecked it there ... If you unchecked the backup-volume there: yes. But you should additionally check, if the index in the section 'Files and Folders' lists other folders from that volume and uncheck them. ... and I told index to use subf...

Re: LAUNCH BAR INDEXING FAR TOO MUCH

LaunchBar starts reindexing a directory (folder) as soon as it sees a change there, e.g. a new folder/subfolder, a modified document, a deleted or newly installed application etc. So if it constantly starts indexing when you are cloning your hard drive it is most likely, that it sees changes on the ...

Re: Launchbar 6 is Less Responsive

Hmmm, I'm running a Intel-iMac Mid 2007 with 4 GB RAM and assume I'd be predestined to experience any noticeable difference in speed comparing LaunchBar 6 to LaunchBar5 on this old machine. Yet I don't, neither with OS10.9.5 nor with OS10.10 with the latest versions of LB6. Maybe LB6 seemed a bit sl...

Re: Set default from email address when using Apple Mail

It has nothing to do with the order in which accounts are listed in Apple Mail. The default account for sending new messages (including replies) is set here:
Apple Mail > menu bar > Mail > Preferences > Composing > Addressing > "Send new message from:"

Re: after removing Box folder, still shows in index

I would quit LaunchBar and delete it’s caches by deleting the folder ‘at.obdev.LaunchBar’ in /Users/your-name/Library/Caches/. Then restart LaunchBar and it will completely reindex all items.

Re: another questions about the contacts-app

You cannot edit the contacts via LaunchBar, you have to do so in the Contacts.app. This is unfortunate -- I'd seriously like to see some of the actions currently available in Cobook made available in LaunchBar. Hm, the “actions currently available in Cobook” (edit, delete etc) do not act on the con...

Re: another questions about the contacts-app

- To open the Contacts.app, call it up in LaunchBar and hit “Enter”. - To open the app showing a dedicated contact directly, call up that contact (any info of that contact will do) in LaunchBar and hit “CMD + Enter”. - To open the app showing a dedicated contact directly in “Edit Mode”, call up that...
