Re: Origin of notification: "Simulated Input Ignored..."

I got hit with the message. Latest version of LS, MacOS 10.14.2. My message says "Default Folder X has simulated muse or keyboard input that Little Snitch has ignored for security reasons." I have no idea why.

4.1.1 update

After restarting my computer after the update, I could no longer connect to the internet via Ethernet. The Network Preference panel says that my Mac is connected and receiving an address but I cannot get out to the internet. Right now I am on the WiFi connection. Is this a coincidence? I don't know....

Duration of temporary has changed from Logout to Login

WTF. I have one user account that all of a sudden is blocking all temporary connections. When I view the rule after clicking the edit button, instead of seeing a check mark next to "Logout", it says "Login" I checked other user accounts and this strange phenomenon doesn't happen....

Security & Privacy >Accessibility>Little Snitch Agent

Is there a reason I should give permission to the Little Snitch Agent to control my computer?

I am using 2.5.2 on Lion, if that helps.

Re: Confirm connection alert automatically not working

I let the dialog box stay open for several minutes without touching anything. It still won't automatically deny a connection. I don't even see a countdown timer.

Confirm connection alert automatically not working

I have this preference set to deny after 30 seconds. But nothing happens. The connection request dialog box just remains on the screen. I am using LS in a separate (different from my usual user) account that is just set up to handle Final Cut Pro X. The alert comes from a plug-in from noiseindusties...

Re: After installing Firefox 7, Little Snitch is going crazy

I am getting the same result. If you look at the rules though - I see two entries for FireFox. One is for Firefox - bin, and the other is for Firefox. The -bin one contains all the old rules, and the plain Firefox all the new. So, where is the disconnect coming from?

lost names in Alert boxes

I turned on the new DNS in Network Monitor just to see what it did. I really didn't see anything in the Network Monitor box but I did see a big change in the Alert box. All I saw were the numbers, not the names. I turned off this feature, logged out, logged back in and now things are back to normal....

Strange occurance with rules

I do a clone of my system every week with SuperDuper! Yesterday I had a terrible experience and had to start from the backup system, erase my primary HHD and clone everything back. But I lost a significant number of rules that over time I had established. Some were there, some weren't and I had just...

Re: mDNSRespnder and fwdr-12.fwdr-0.fwdr-252.fwdr-71

Yes Verizon is my ISP. But prior to this the only DNS name in my Network Configuration System Preferences was the router's address. I checked the router and it has the SAME DNS server address (71.252.0.12.) So it seems that I have the same address in two different places - router and systems prefere...

mDNSRespnder and fwdr-12.fwdr-0.fwdr-252.fwdr-71

LS started showing themDNSResponder process connecting to fwdr-12.fwdr-0.fwdr-252.fwdr-71 (72.252.0.12.) I did a "Whois" and found it was Verizon Internet Services Inc. So I blocked it. LS says "Deny connections to fwdr-12.fwdr-0.fwdr-252.fwdr-71" But the next day the connection ...

Little Snitch and iTunes

I just purchased a copy of Star Trek that comes with a digital copy. The digital copy is downloaded from iTunes. Once the download started, I never saw either red or green bars in the the LS connection status monitor. The file downloaded fine but I am curious as to why the send/receive bars never ac...

Re: Specific rule to block a range of IP addresses

If you put a single IP address in the "Whois" tab of Network Utility and use "whois.arin.net" it will show the IP range. Look for an entry called CDIR (or CIDR) and copy the entry exactly into Little Snitch. You should be able to allow or deny I think.
