Firefox periodically wants to connect to bitbucket.org on 443. bitbucket is supposed to be a collaberation hosting site, so I don't know why it would. I'm pretty sure what has happened is that when updating to Firefox 7, the system temporarily transferred the earlier version to a file called Firefox-bin. Little Snitch followed this path, then when the new version of Firefox was installed, Little Snitch considered that a new application. Should be ...

Manfred, Thank you for your reply. It gave me the impetus to go ahead and set up the system the way I wanted it to function. More specific rules always override more general rules (regardless whether they are deny or allow rules). One issue I did note, is that it seems that there must be some caveat...
