Re: Firefox 4 Bookmarks and History

Was having the same issue of nothing showing up in Firefox bookmarks. Started out with Firefox 3.x. Upgraded to 7, 8 and finally 9.0.1 today, still no bookmarks in LaunchBar. Ran the "Vacuum places.sqlite" plugin suggested above and now everything is working great. Note: If you go the &quo...

Re: Accessing Application menus for my own shortcuts

If you are really desperate, then see this: http://forums.obdev.at/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3403 I took a look at the other thread. I have just switched from Quicksilver. Personally, I never felt the need of that feature in Quicksilver because you always tend to know the keyboard shortcuts of menu ...

Re: Open location fails in scripts run via LaunchBar

Is "location" a typo? That's not supported, at least on Leopard: % open location "http://obdev.at" The file /Users/foo/location does not exist. You are trying to run AppleScript commands directly in the terminal. There is an "open" command accessible through terminal b...

Re: Accessing Application menus for my own shortcuts

This was originally posted in December 2006. I posted in September 2007, two years ago. Any progress here?

In my opinion, menu traversal is still the biggest feature that LaunchBar is lacking.

Open location fails in scripts run via LaunchBar

I have a script to do a lyric search for the currently playing song. It has worked great for years although I used to run it as a standalone app. Recently I converted it to a script since those seem to be much more responsive when run via LaunchBar i.e. no app startup time. It was working great but ...

Re: Running an applescript that contains "display dialog"?

I solved it by calling Launchbar at the beginning of the script: After completion of the script, I'm back to my proper frontmost application. tell application "LaunchBar" activate end tell I had read that this would work: tell application "System Events" activate end tell but it...

Re: Block subdomains?

Yeah, I'd like to see some movement here as well. It's been about nine months since I've posted with no noticeable acknowledgement or change in the software.

Anything happening?

Re: drill into keychain

Apple provides a framework "Keychain Services" and documentation to assist developers in manipulating the keychain.

http://developer.apple.com/documentatio ... ction.html
http://developer.apple.com/documentatio ... rence.html

The issue here is just getting the developer of LaunchBar to add the necessary support or, allowing extensibility so that someone else can do it.

Re: drill into keychain

I know that quicksilver is very plugin based. LaunchBar does not necessarily need to allow that level of extensibility. Merely provide others a way to write indexers that could allow LaunchBar to index items that do not have representations as files.

Keychain browsing support please!

Just trying to bump this topic back to the top. Being able to browse the keychain would be extremely useful.

Would it be possible to allow third party plugins that could index into otherwise opaque data sources?

Choose the right app

Another way to handle this issue is to choose a better information manager application. I have been using Yojimbo since it came out but recently switched to Together ( m ). Unlike Yojimbo, which stores its data in a sqlite database, Together stores everything in the filesystem. This means that all o...

Already exists

And another one: filtering incoming connections! Apple already provides this through the builtin ipfw firewall. If you want a graphical interface take a look at: - Flying Buttress m - WaterRoof m - any other ipfw frontend (not all listed here are) m I have to admit, having LS be a frontend to ipfw ...

LS Rules and Users

Excellent question. I'd like to know the answer as well.

In addition, how does Little Snitch work when logged in as a different user. Is a different set of rules applied for each user?

Check Permissions

My guess is that the area on disk where the key file is to be written has permissions which do not allow Little Snitch to write there.

Try running "Repair Permissions" in Disk Utility and then reentering the key.

Rules Order

Do you have a rule on Safari that specifically allows all traffic to port 80? If so that may be overriding the global deny rule that you put in place.
