Re: Block subdomains?

Rules with wildcards in host names are of course on our to-do list. However, things are not as simple as it may seem. It's easy to have contradicting rules when each rule includes many IP addresses. When we make the next major update to the filtering engine, we plan to add wildcard rules and a mech...

Re: Block subdomains?

There are many products which support this kind of thing. Really? Like what? I've not found a viable alternative to LS. Native iptables/netfilter doesn't do it, I think there is a windows software that might, but that really doesn't apply here. If LS cannot be made to do it, it's a limitation of th...

Re: Block subdomains?

I believe everything is deliberately confusing with Little Snitch. Block should mean Block. I also believe Little Snitch was bought out by Apple so they can hack in without being blocked. Try and block any title with ntpd.apple, time.apple, apple, mac or anything related to apple and you will still...

Re: Block subdomains?

I'm not a developer, but I find this hard to implement. Since firewalls check on packet headers where IP numbers are present and obviously not in the form of DNS names, thus, if a wildcard had to be there to match on certain domains, LS has to start quering the DNS on every different IP designated ...

It would be simply awesome to get the company to at least say "No" or something. This silence is pretty fraking frustrating..

Re: Block subdomains?

I'd like to resurrect this thread. I'd like to see some wildcard possibilities as well. Devs?

Little Snitch and GlimmerBlocker = disaster recipe

I read another thread about LS and GlimmerBlocker, and my problem isn't to get them to work together, but to get them to NOT work together. As near as I can tell GlimmerBlocker allows any program to make a HTTP connection regardless of the ruleset. I have a rule specifically prohibiting a software, ...
