Thanks ObjDev...

for covering 10.6.8... too many devs seem to demand that their users stay on the "latest OS" treadmill... so those of us who move more deliberatively routinely get penalized (not to mention that some still have reliance on Rosetta for specific apps). ObjDev has our backs and that is apprec...

Network Monitor Timing?

I did run through the help, but don't see the answer to my question. When I first read about the Network Monitor, I tho9ught it was something that would also accumulate such statistics. I DO see a Menu item for "Show only Last..." which was set to Unlimited. BUT in use, it seems to not rea...

Re: Hidden gates in the e-mails in little snatch

Local dinosaur here... boy am I getting a ton of LaunchCFM messages, can be 2-3 each piece of mail. Used the analyze function to see that it was actually Rosetta (uh, Eudora eh). I THINK it seems to be telling me that LS3 is just more fine grained than LS2. Probably time for an any connection/foreve...

Re: Blinking Red Dot?

Hmmm, I HAD read through the whole Analyze traffic section, but didn't find this information in there... but now I see it by going to "Everything Else." In point of fact, I had not chosen the "capture traffic" function. But I DO thank you for responding! There ARE issues here... ...

Blinking Red Dot?

Covering up part of the menubar display for LS (the up and down animations) is a blinking red dot that I think has something to do with LS... what IS it? And why is it positioning covering up some but not all of the connection (it's the one with the horizontal lines with an arrow at the top pointing...

Speaking of shut-down... FWIW, ever since I enabled Time Machine, my shut-downs have gone to normal to as long as 10-12 minutes later.

Then again, it also may get you an e-mail from Jobs with something trenchant like "cut it out."<g>

Now that we at lest know wildcards are in the devs sites, perhaps comprehensive logging is next? At least, that would be my hope...

Re: Does Little Snitch 2 upgrade version 1? Are settings kept?

I kvethched over this for a long while, but found out it wasn't NEAR as painful as I thought it would be. Sometimes a fresh start can be good, as I was a LOTY smarter how I created rules when I had to re-do them... so I am covered as well as before, but have a LOT less rules to deal with.

Re: Block subdomains?

Ah, very interesting. Thanks for taking the time to speak with us... especially when misconceptions may be involved. I'd still want to have wildcards (most of my rules are of the allow variety, so now I could have a few less of them), but now I have a better understanding of what that CAN mean. So a...

Actually, we have gotten a post from a dev indicating wildcards WILL be in the next engine release:

Delete (or edit) the hosts file... assuming you aren't already using it for other purposes.

Re: Network Monitor Display

Oh boy am I a dumbkoff! I had tried like crazy to see if it could be moved... but with no success. Because you said it CAN, I gave it another shot. Took me a bunch of tries until I hit on that very slim excuse for a title bar was the spot to grab n drag. I wonder if this is actually documented anywh...

Re: Network Monitor Display

Not the menu, the window. That window does NOT line up with the menu icon at all, it looks like it is hard coded to sit at the top and right edge of the screen at the top. Oh, now I see... there's a grab bar bottom right, so I CAN horizontally shorten it... I think originally I made it wider to be a...
