Re: High CPU and disk usage for 1-2 minutes after login

Yes, it looks like it's doing a lot of code signing stuff. Here is the output from sample: https://0x0.st/svQb.txt

Re: High CPU and disk usage for 1-2 minutes after login

No, I don't have that many rules. I have 502 rules in total, including the built-in ones, I think that's a normal amount? This only started happening recently. After deleting some old rules, I now have 436 rules, but it makes no difference. It still reads nearly a gigabyte and a half from disk. Actu...

High CPU and disk usage for 1-2 minutes after login

Not sure when this started, but I'm getting high CPU usage, about 50% from Little Snitch Daemon plus another 25% or so from the kernel task, which lasts about a minute or two after startup. It seems to be reading something from the disk, as the "bytes read" in Activity monitor rises steadi...

I notice the same thing, and even the same size, about 1.4 GB read at startup. Using 4.1.3 on macOS 10.12.6. I also have high CPU usage, about 50%, by Little Snitch Daemon for a minute or two after startup.

Re: LS 4.x - "Lost Connection" error - Obdev never responded after 2 weeks

I haven't experienced the "lost connection" problem, but I've definitely experienced the "Obdev doesn't answer e-mails" problem. They haven't abandoned LS - just keep trying I guess? Don't know what else to say. Good luck...

Re: Restrict Little Snitch to only one user in macOS 11.13?

First thing to know is that rules for processes with owner "System" or "Anyone" show up in everyone's Little Snitch configuration, and if they're changed in one configuration, they're changed in all. On the other hand, rules for processes with owner "Me" are specific to...

Re: Random IP's connecting via SSHD - Should I be worried?

The sshd daemon is part of OS X, it listens for incoming ssh connections from the network. The ssh system can be used for all kinds of remote login functions, including screen sharing, interactive command line, file transfer, etc. If you turn on Remote Login in Sharing preferences, it turns on the s...

Re: Vast number of new connections

rsharbes1, you're using the wrong tool! You need to install something like Adblock+ in your browser, along with appropriate subscriptions, eg. EasyList, EasyPrivacy, and Fanboy's Annoyance List. That will do everything you ask for. Using Little Snitch to try to do this will just make you crazy, that...

Re: being asked about IP numbers

Nobody knows something about this? It happens with several different applications, for example Thunderbird e-mail has various sites it wants to check, like ocsp.verisign.com, my mail server, and so on. I added rules to allow all those sites. But then later on, it asks me again, but this time just us...

Re: How to block only the chosen applications?

You can add a rule under "Any Process", to allow any connection. Then you can manually add "deny" rules, if you have specific apps, ports, or servers you want to block. The general "allow" rule will be overridden by the more specific "deny" rules. Just keep in...

being asked about IP numbers

Hi, I'm trying out Little Snitch 3.3 on Mavericks. Sometimes it's asking me about connections to IP numbers instead of domain urls. For example I added a rule for Dropbox when I was asked, to allow outgoing connections to domain dropbox.com. But then later I got asked again, that Dropbox wanted to c...
