Re: Request: ForkLift support

According to a ForkLift forum post by one of the devs on June 15, they won't even think about supporting AppleScript until after Version 2 is released. So ForkLift users, make your wishes for LaunchBar integration known to the FL developers!

LB5: Calculator results can be copied to the clipboard!

I don't see this in the "What's new" screen or Help. In LB 5, cmd-c will copy calculator results to the clipboard. This greatly enhances the the value of the calculator. I think this capability should be added to the What's New listing.

Thank you, Norbert!

I should have been clearer above. Here's what I do: 1. Select the item to be moved in LB or Finder and type cmd-c. 2. In LB, select the folder where I want the item to go. 3. Hit cmd-v for 'paste' -this gets the pop-up menu of choices. (These steps are alternatives to the TAB and RETURN method and k...

1. If it is a new file, go to the configuration menu and rescan user files. Sometimes I have to spell out the whole name a few times before LB learns an abbreviation. 2. In LB Help, see 'Selecting Items' heading, 'Abbreviation Search'. The assign abbreviation command is 'Command-Option-A'. Good luck...

How about running the shell scripts via Applescripts (i.e. with "do shell script")? Applescripts launch with a simple return.

Transfer license

I want to give my home copy of LB to a friend and buy a separate business license. I assume that if I "unregister" my copy (in the License window) that my friend can then register with the original keycode/serial number.

Is this correct?

Thanks

Thanks, George. I can't invoke the template, and it doesn't appear anywhere in the items indexed in the Configuration. What am I missing?

How to activate "Enter Text" Search Template

In LB 4.3's Help, there is an illustration of an" Enter Text" search template. (Help: "Text Items" under "What's New?") How is this template activated?

Request dialog to replace existing items after move or copy

When, in the Finder, I copy or move an item to a folder, if there is an existing item of the same name, the Finder issues a warning of this and gives an option of replacing or canceling the operation. In LB, I use copy and "paste" items into folders, via CMD-C and CMD-V. When there is an e...

BeeRich- Look in LaunchBar Help (CMD-?) in the Help Menu. The "Search Templates" item is in the Configuration section. The Services Menu it talks about is under the app menu (one to the right of the apple menu) for any app which can use Services. Services are described in the OS X help. Yo...

No problems with LB (or anything else) after upgrading to 10.4.10 on a PB G4 1.5. Rescanning everything took less than 12 seconds. The installed version of Safari is 2.04

Thanks, Norbert! I never considered the "Index Grouped by Kind" rules. LB is much faster than using Spotlight. And specifying "excel" picks up file types such as "csv" files.

Use Spotlight, with the "Name"+ "Ends With" criteria.
