Re: Indexing Is Much Too Frequent

I agree. This constant reindexing is insane, and Objective Development seems uninterested in doing anything about it. This program is not seriously supported any longer.

Re: mysterious numbers

I figured it out!!!! It's the QuickSilver "comma trick" for opening multiple apps.

Re: mysterious numbers

Okay, I figured out what I'm doing that summons these mysterious numbers!!! I'm accidentally hitting the COMMA key. So for example, I go Control-Space (my shortcut for summoning LaunchBar), S, then COMMA, and I get the screen shot shown in the previous post. So what does the "1" mean and w...

Re: mysterious numbers

You're right. Here's an example:

So the question is, after hitting S to get Safari, what did I hit to get the 1, and what would happen if I now hit Return? It scares me.

Re: mysterious numbers

I don't think that's it, but if it were, what would I have had to do (accidentally) to make those numbers appear? (My memory is that my numbers are associated with an application name and have a line under them, e.g. Xcode 1-in-box-with-line-under. But I can't be sure because I only see this once in...

mysterious numbers

What are the mysterious numbers, 1-in-a-box, 2-in-a-box, that sometimes appear at the right end of LaunchBar's window as I'm typing a shortcut?

Re: LaunchBar 6.4 incredibly slow

You would have to explain why there is no similar delay with earlier versions of LaunchBar. Clearly this is something in 6.4 specifically.

Re: LaunchBar 6.4 incredibly slow

That's it, I'm out. LaunchBar 6 has jumped the shark. I gave it every chance and it let me down. I've gone back to LaunchBar 5.6.3 and am perfectly content with it.

Re: LaunchBar 6.4 incredibly slow

Even things like dismissing LaunchBar are incredibly slow! Let's say I summon LaunchBar and type, but then change my mind and click on the desktop. It's like:

* wait 2 seconds, list of apps disappears
* wait 2 more seconds, LaunchBar itself disappears

This is totally unusable.

LaunchBar 6.4 incredibly slow

Am I the only one who finds Launchbar 6.4 incredibly slow? I'm talking about the speed with which it responds to typing. For example I used to summon iTunes by going control-space i t u return Now I have to wait like two seconds after `i t u` before iTunes appears as the selected item and it is safe...

LB 6 Reindexes Way Too Often

By turning on the option to show indexing automatically, I find that LaunchBar 6 reindexes every couple of hours - and it takes a long time each time as it combs the hard drive looking for applications. Please, please, please, bring back schedules! I was happy with LB 5 and before where my settings ...

Re: Little Snitch showing wrong host name for IP

The problem is that the hostname LittleSnitch shows is sometimes sheer nonsense. For example, this is just nuts; no way is reuters.com the same as akamaitechnologies.com:

Re: Security Dialog on 10.9

I now recommend (on a different thread on the same topic) that you throw LB away and replace it with a completely fresh downloaded copy. This fixed it for me.

Re: Several security dialogs every reboot on Mavericks

I fixed it! Throw LB away. Download and install a completely fresh copy. That's it.

I think the problem is that there's something wrong with the Sparkle self-updating system. The console messages I already cited gave me a clue that the system wasn't believing this was the same application.
