Re: Indexing symbolic links?

Another dump. This really bites Nix users as well, since I can't index my ~/.nix-profile/Applications folder, since it's a symlink into the Nix store that changes every time I update my system.

How do I deny all but one address

If I have a "deny all network" rule and a "allow port on host" rule for the same app, will it allow the specific traffic but deny all unspecified traffic?

You probably have found the answer to this, but you should most certainly allow certain types of outbound UDP traffic, most notably:

* DHCP (also called "bootp")
* DNS
* NTP

Even better would be to have named "rule sets". I want a more permissive ruleset when I'm at home (where I use Rendezvous, file sharing, etc), but I want more restrictive away from home (like, I don't want Rendezvous broadcasting to the whole café that I'm there).

Just tried it and no, I'm not seeing that behavior here (and I have Path Finder also).

Amber (and hello, I know you from literatureandlatte!),

Do you mean that it hides after you press ?Space followed by ?G? That has never happened to me before.

Correction, RET RET does not work. I guess it only seemed to before.

Hi kmnjunk2007, In response: 1. LaunchBar only auto-hides after running a script if you use Shift-Return. Otherwise, it will not hide at all unless the script itself switches to another application. 2. Cmd-Space, while LaunchBar is running, is used to restart your search (for example, to get out of ...

Desired: Use the Finder to perform copies/moves

I've noticed that any attempt to copy/move a file within LaunchBar has these two drawbacks: 1. It will not copy/move on top of an existing file. So, I can't just bulk copy a bunch of disk images to my archive directory, hoping to update the older versions. All I get is an "OK" dialog, whic...

Numbers run the problem that they'd be constantly changing, and thus I'd have to read the list every time.

About ?I: I would happily give it up once Cmd-Space-Space had been pressed, since within that list my only interest is in app switching.

Desired: Faster app switching

When I hit Cmd-Space-Space, something I'd like is the ability to hit just one or two more keys -- and have it select whichever app in the list matches those keys. So, Cmd-Space-Space-T would take me to TextMate, for example.

Desired: A way to more quickly move files

In my Drag/Copy preferences pane, I've selected so that it moves files automatically when I drop them into a directory. However, if I use Tab, and then choose a directory and press Ret, I get a menu of what I'd like to do. It would be great if this menu only showed by pressing Ctrl-Ret, since 99% of...
