LS(4?) performance issues on LAN

Hi, this is the first time I noticed this (which does not mean it was there in pre-4 releases, though at least there, I didn't notice it): When LS is engaged, it slows down reading from the NAS on my LAN (a Synology DiskStation DS-716+) significantly. Example (roughly): LS Network Filter off: ~70 MB...

Re: Assign a shortcut to a file?

The nearest solution to this use case I found is: ⋅ Index > User defined lists. ⋅ Create a new one, e.g. "PL documents". ⋅ On the "Index" tab, add the files you want to have at your fingertips by dragging them to the window area or using the [+] icon...

Re: Search template to local file broken

Now meanwhile on LaunchBar 6.6.2, the issue persists exactly as described above :(

Is this ever gonna be remedied, or does there exist a different way to do this? It looks like the basic use case I have is the same as described in this post (also no answer so far @ 2016-06-13).

Thanks,
Christian

Re: Search template to local file broken

Yes, "Abbreviate home folder in copied file paths with tilde sign (~)" is OFF (unchecked) in my settings. That setting shouldn't have an effect on the issue I was reporting, though.

Re: Search template to local file broken

With meanwhile being on LaunchBar 6.3, I am facing still the exact same issue (even the spelling mistake in the dialog... ) Is there anything I could do to not have LB any magic to my URLs, but just have it leave file: -protocol URLs just as they are? Or is there a different solution to have ...

Re: Search template to local file broken

I am having the same/similar issue with LB 6.2. I have configured "search templates" (though I actually just want a list of openable URLs: is there a better way to do this??). One entry e.g. is: Name: uc URL: file:///Users/myname/dist/doc/manual/html/index.html When I try to open that I ge...

Re: 5.2 does not accept "original name".

I just stumbled upon this as well (I'm on a German system). I remember there once was a preference "append original name" to the localized name of a file/app. This is no longer present. In the past, I used e.g. "fb" to start "Font Book" (="Schriftsammlung" in ...

Re: touch

I just wanted to create a new file in a certain directory, and also did not find a better way than using touch. So I did LB > Cmd-G (to prime it with the folder I wanted to create the text file in) > Cmd-Alt-T > "touch thenewfile.txt" Problem is, to open and edit it, I need to go a second ...

Re: Indexing apps in /System/Library/CoreServices/

  • Zertifikatsassistent.app
  • Verzeichnisdienste.app
  • Serverassistent.app
  • KeyboardSetupAssistant.app
  • Jar Launcher.app
  • Bluetooth-Assistent.app

seem to me like candidates to be included.

Christian

Indexing apps in /System/Library/CoreServices/

Hi, I have added /System/Library/CoreServices to the locations in the Applications index to the ones I want apps to be indexed. However, none of the applications therein (e.g. "Verzeichnisdienste.app" resp. "Directory Utility.app" in english localization) will show up in my appli...
