10.10: network monitor invisible with dark menus

I'm using the nightlies build trunk: 4202 When using the new "Use dark menu bar and dock" option in OS X 10.10, the networking status readout is invisible (black on very dark grey). It helps a bit to enable colourful mode, then activity does show up, but the text is still quite dark. What ...

Option key launch conflicts with Mac Finder shortcuts

The execution of LaunchBar in debugging mode, via holding down the Options key to launch it, conflicts with the long-standing Finder keyboard shortcut which when held down while double-clicking, dismisses the window you double-clicked from . For example, if I hit ` Shift-Cmd-A ` to open /Application...

Re: Category from file extension

I get "SQL Source", but like "Markdown Document" and "TeX Document", these do not seem to be registered in such a way that they show up in Categories (would be lovely if they did). I suspect there is probably a way of manually creating types in the Spotlight engine? If ...

Re: Category from file extension

Yes, tap tap indeed. I'd be interested in this as well as I deal quite a lot in text files. I'd love to be able to break that up into smaller chunks that are actually useful.

Re: Keyboard shortcut conflict for Show Index in LB5

But aren't you assuming that the first folder is the one you want to enter by tapping Space? No. Again, I cannot imagine leaving the home row to use arrow keys when the selection of a folder is a simple matter of reducing the list to one, via alphanumeric filtering---the whole and primary advantage...

Re: Keyboard shortcut conflict for Show Index in LB5

That's is how it is in 4 and 5, yes. Try it; select a folder or document type group and hit spacebar. I couldn't imagine relying on the arrow keys for navigation. What a lot of hand movement for something that can be instantly done with the spacebar while typing. It might be unintuitive if you've ne...

Re: Keyboard shortcut conflict for Show Index in LB5

Some feedback on the switch to using spacebar for quicklook. I believe this puts the feature into an habitual conflict with folder navigation. We've always been able to descend into folders with the spacebar, making rapid navigation of deep folders cake. Having quicklook bound to the same key, but o...

Notification of file transfer completion.

It looks like the new version of LB is forking threads for file transfer and eject. Particularly with eject, this is nice because Leopard kind of broke that somehow for me. It worked, but took ages when instigating from LB. Anyway, I used to rely upon LB's refusal to dismiss itself as an indicator o...

Hey, fellow Scriv! I forgot the default shortcut for the service Send to LaunchBar because I had to re-assign it. Path Finder used the default. Anyway it is Cmd-Shift-B for me, which should send the current Path Finder selection to LaunchBar and let me then do what I will with the selected file. I t...

Does anyone else have LaunchBar auto-hide after getting the selected file in Finder or Path Finder? It seems to happen most of the time for me. The file will select in LB and then auto-hide rapidly. Rarely it will stick and let me manipulate the file, so I am assuming that it is supposed to work thi...

The would run into problems where names used action letters, such as ⌘I, which is used to Get Info on a running application from that mode. How about numbers? Number the list visibly and have that number go straight to the entry. When you let go of ⌘, it activates.

One point I think should be brought up (entirely aside from the issue of LB using scripts) is that quite a few of the functions you listed toward the end are tools meant to fix existing problems in the operating system. They are not really meant to be run periodically on a smoothly operating system....

Splendid! That is slightly more clumsy than pressing Opt-Return or something in LB, but it will certainly do. That's a great tip, and useful beyond LaunchBar. Thank you.

Edit: I put the necessary pipe into the Ruby script itself, now it automatically inserts the result in the clipboard.

I apologise for straying off of the topic in my own thread, but now that I have this working -- is there any way to pipe the results of an executed script into the clipboard, rather than running it in Terminal?
