Hi
My project is rfid reading. using low cost M302 readers (2 or more). The readers use HID and place the reading of tag data into the position of cursor focus on document on ATtiny85. There is one reader for each area/location
As the readers do not have ID I wan to read tag, add an ID number to the read, and then forward to open Excel spreadsheet on PC. I will need separate ATtiny for each reader, and therefore an ID of its own.
Use V-USB  ?

Please comment on my thoughts-

Plug usb reader into ATtiny85 with (usb breakout?)
create or open . txt file on ATtiny85 (create only the first time)
Set cursor to focus on .txt file
Read a tag on rfid reader. The HID on usb places the read from tag, into the focus cursor position in .txt file.?No software needed in .txt file?
Set an id in software for this ATtiny85 only. (as a variable?)
Add as a prefix, the ID number, to reader data into the .txt file
Using keyboard reader? to send combined data to Excel spreadsheet ...readings.xls
Once data sent last data sent is removed from .txt file, ready for next read. (about 1 second)
Return to set cursor focus

ATtiny85 will be powered by battery.

Would like to do with the minimum of software.

Excel spreadsheet - receives data from usb port from usb hub - ATtiny85 plugged into say 4 way hub (with say 3 other ATtiny85 into hub) - usb reader plugged into each ATtiny85.
As each reader is used, its individual ID prefixed to the tag read and placed in Excel. Excel can then manipulate by location/area as required.

I am noobie and need some direction for this project.
Thanks
Charles Harris
Statistics: Posted by sswcharlie — Sun Dec 09, 2018 11:28 pm — Replies 0 — Views 73222

Hi everyone,
I'm playing with avrs since few years now and i'm locked on a problem.
I'm making a boat GPS keyboard to use it with oppenplotter on raspberry. The keyboard will return kbd caracters to make shortcuts in oppenplotter (- for zoom-, + for zoom+, etc..)
I have an old NAVIONICS GPS and want to put the raspberry in it and keep the existing keyboard.
My board is SMD version with 20MHZ crystal. I use the same hardware as the example, exept for the keymapping (10 keys for the keyboard and 1 for toggling kbd lights).
I've modified the example to fit my hardware :
i use 1.8kohm pullup for D- and 3.6v zener diodes on both D+ and D-

Code:

#define F_CPU 20000000UL

in main.c and every h files

The new keyboard function works the same (returns 1 to 10 for each key and 0 for no key)

Code:

static uchar    keyPressed(void)
{

uchar   i;
uint8_t bits = PINC;
if (!(bits & 1)) i=1;                  //Si un des bits est a 0 (!), i=valeurs correspondante
if (!(bits & 2)) i= 2;
if (!(bits & 8)) i= 3;
if (!(bits & 16)) i= 4;
if (!(bits & 32)) i= 5;
if (bits & 59) i=0;                     //cas ou tout est a 1 (32+16+8+2+1), pas de touche => i=0
bits = PINB;
if (!(bits & 2)){
i= 0;
PORTC ^= (1<<PC2);                  //^= : bascule
_delay_ms(10);                     //anti rebond (appui multiple)
}
if (!(bits & 16)) i= 6;
if (!(bits & 32)) i= 7;
if (bits & 50) i=0;                     //cas ou tout est a 1 (32+16+2), pas de touche => i=0
bits = PIND;
if (!(bits & 2)) i= 8;
if (!(bits & 32)) i= 9;
if (!(bits & 128)) i= 10;
if (bits & 162) i=0;                  //cas ou tout est a 1 (128+32+2), pas de touche => i=0
return i; //A la fin, on retourne la valeur de la touche (0 = pas de touche et de 1 à 10 : une touche)

}

When i plug the device, windows says :"USB device not recognized etc ..."
The toggling lights works.

Is there anything else to modify in order to use 20MHZ ?
I'm thinking about the 22ms delay :

Code:

        if(TIFR & (1<<TOV0)){   /* 22 ms timer */
TIFR = 1<<TOV0;
if(idleRate != 0){
if(idleCounter > 4){
idleCounter -= 5;   /* 22 ms in units of 4 ms */

or the timer in hardwareInit() :

Code:

    /* configure timer 0 for a rate of 12M/(1024 * 256) = 45.78 Hz (~22ms) */
TCCR0 = 5;      /* timer 0 prescaler: 1024 */

Thanks for helping
Statistics: Posted by reptooyep — Tue Sep 04, 2018 4:19 pm — Replies 0 — Views 70703

Hello, I try to use my Arduino Nano as virtual keyboard. I proceeded according this tutorial https://blog.petrockblock.com/2012/05/19/usb-keyboard-with-arduino-and-v-usb-library-an-example/ and use this library https://code.google.com/archive/p/vusb-for-arduino/downloads to make example compilable I added some consts before char variables. After that code compile and if I connect USB to computer it's visible like keyboard, but it doesn't write anything, even thou I remove part with button and let it write Hello word every few seconds (using millis).

Could anybody help me please, it's really important for me, it's part of my school project.
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Fri Mar 30, 2018 11:52 pm — Replies 0 — Views 70151

Hi,

I'm working on a project for vehicle diagnostic via CAN bus. I'd like to use the V-USB library to do the communication, but I'm wondering if it's possible to send data with non-fixed data length (as the electronic control units reply with variable data length). Is there any other project doing that ?
Thank you in advance.
Statistics: Posted by drquark — Mon Mar 12, 2018 4:35 pm — Replies 16 — Views 82159

Hi,

I'm trying to get VUSB working on an attiny44, where INT0 is on portB, and portB has no other usable ports when an external oscillator is attached.

Would it be possible to doctor the code to support D+ and D- being on different ports? - at the moment the setting "USB_CFG_IOPORTNAME" only accepts one value.

I feel like this would not be a huge change if I knew where to look!? - any pointers would be appreciated ....
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Wed Jan 24, 2018 2:27 pm — Replies 2 — Views 36547

Hi all,

Here is my project called usbXR, an adapter for RFM70/73/75 2.4 GHz RF transceiver: https://github.com/visakhanc/usbXR.
The intention of the project is to communicate with other RFM70 based remote nodes bi-directionally from a PC, for any kind of application.

It features the original HID-Bootloader extended to add a functionality to program remote AVRs over-the-air. The original BootloadHID command line utility is also modified to do self as well as remote over-the-air programming.

Here is a small demo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iYNhQ-_6nI
Statistics: Posted by visakhanc — Mon Dec 18, 2017 8:41 am — Replies 2 — Views 35362
