The key point is that you publish the source code. You can make any profit you like with GNU software as long as the source code is available.
Statistics: Posted by christian — Sun Nov 18, 2007 12:06 pm

Hi,

I'm planning to use AVR USB on some boards which students will be using in a project at my old high school. I will be making about 50 boards, which I will be paid for. The money will be just sufficient to cover my physical costs (i.e. PCB costs, component costs) and will not cover the time I've spent working on the project etc.

I will be publishing the projects details and making all source/hardware available.

I thought I better check that this is OK under the free license conditions (GPL confuses me). I don't want to accidentally do the wrong thing by the OD team.

I think the key point is that I will be getting money but not making profit and that the boards will be used for educational purposes.

Regards,
James
Statistics: Posted by Guest — Thu Nov 15, 2007 4:03 pm
