Just serch for sener and mark the 3.6V SMD versions.
A Mini-MELF package (a.k.a. SOD80), is the standard package for standard SMD zener diodes and easy to find everywhere.
Here's a cheap one from NXP (former Philips Semiconductors), price US$ 0.17: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... -3794-1-ND
But you can also find smaller packages.

If you need a more compact solution you can get dual 3.6V zener diodes in a single SMD package.
For example this 3-pin package with common anode: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... 6-FDICT-ND
Or this even smaller package with 6 pins and two seperate zener diodes inside: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... I would expect any 5227 to work. The only difference should be the packaging. Just make sure the parameters are as close as possible.
Statistics: Posted by Grendel — Tue Feb 24, 2009 10:07 am

I wanted to help anyone looking to use the 3.6 volt Zener on the D+ and D- lines method of making the interface. I ordered these diodes 1N5227B-T digikey number: 1N5227BDICT-ND. I build the interface and it has worked on a 6 different make and models of computers.
On the surface mount zener question, I was looking for someone that has actually used one and built the interface. I have used their search method and found several that might work.
Statistics: Posted by Drools — Tue Feb 24, 2009 1:32 am

Like these ? Digikey has a neat component selection tool, just type "zener" into the search bar and go from there..
Statistics: Posted by Grendel — Sun Feb 22, 2009 5:44 am

Has anyone build the USB interface, 3.6 Zener, 68 ohm resistor, 1.5K pullup using SMT parts? If so do you have Digikey part numbers for the Zener diodes?
Statistics: Posted by Drools — Fri Feb 20, 2009 8:52 pm
