Feature Request: Ctrl-G or Ctrl-[ to deactivate LaunchBar

Postby niels.widger » Fri Feb 04, 2011 3:58 am

My feature request is very simple, allow Ctrl-g (emacs) or Ctrl-[ (vim) to be used to deactivate LaunchBar in addition to regular old Esc. Or perhaps make it a configurable keybinding. I use emacs on a daily basis and find myself using the Ctrl-f/b/n/p keybinding in LaunchBar regularly but am always miffed when Ctrl-g does not exit out of LaunchBar like it should. I'd love if this feature could be added. Thanks!

No one else wants this feature? This makes me sad. :(

Being an Emacs user, I wouldn't mind Control-G as a shortcut to deactivate LB since sometimes it's easier for me to type than Escape or Command-. Also, in Emacs and vim (and Unix tty-based input in general), Control-[ is equivalent to Escape. Not sure how it behaves relative to the Cocoa Text System; doesn't seem to be assigned to cancelOperation:, like Escape is, with default key bindings. Also don't know if LB does or can make use of those key bindings.
